AI that shows its working

The model reads your round in plain language and resolves it to the four things that decide fit: stage, sector, geography and cheque band. It prints what it understood, and every filter it sets stays editable. The AI proposes, you dispose.

How it works

Three steps. No intermediary.

ApexRound does not broker introductions or take a cut of your round. It tells you who fits, and sends you to their own door.

STEP 01

Describe the round

One sentence in your own words: “pre-seed fintech in Europe, raising £400k”. No forms, no deck, no taxonomy to learn.

pre-seed fintech in Europe, raising £400k
STEP 02

The AI reads your round

It resolves your brief to stage, sector, geography and cheque band, then scores every indexed investor against it, and shows the inputs so you can argue with the number.

STEP 03

Take the route in

Each match carries its real entry point: open application form, partner email, or the warm path if that's the only one that works.

Why ApexRound

A directory that decays
is worse than none.

Most investor lists are a scrape from two years ago. Dead funds, departed partners, mandates that quietly changed. Ours is maintained like infrastructure.

Verification

Verified, not scraped

Every record is re-checked against the firm’s own site on a rolling sweep: does it resolve, does it still name the firm, does it read as an investor, and is it a live business rather than a domain parked for sale. What fails is flagged where it stands, not after you’ve emailed a dead address.

Cheque band

Cheque-size honest

Filtered by what a fund actually writes at your stage, not its headline fund size. A $400M fund leading Series A is noise in a pre-seed search.

Pipeline

It remembers who you’ve asked

Mark a fund applied and it stays marked. No parallel spreadsheet, no wondering whether you already sent to them in week two. The shortlist, the status and the follow-up live on the record itself.

Access

The route is the product

Knowing a fund exists is worthless. Every record carries the specific way in: open form, direct partner contact, or an honest “intro only” so you don't waste the send.

No pay-to-rank.Placement, visibility and fit score are never for sale.

Values & vision

Venture capital has a front door.
Most founders never find it.

Capital is not actually scarce at pre-seed. What is scarce is knowing which forty of two thousand funds would even read your deck, and how to reach them without a warm introduction you do not have. That asymmetry is not a law of nature. It is a directory problem, and directory problems are solvable.

01

Show the working

Every record says when it was last checked and what that check established. Where we are guessing, it is marked as a guess. A directory that hides its own uncertainty is asking you to trust it instead of letting you verify it, and trust is the wrong currency here.

02

Never sell the ranking

Placement, visibility and fit score are not for sale, and never will be. The moment a fund can buy its way up the list, the list stops being information and starts being advertising. That is the business model we are deliberately not building.

03

Stay out of the way

We do not broker introductions, sit between you and a fund, or take a fee from your round. The route on each record goes to the firm’s own door, not through ours. A founder who never speaks to us and raises anyway is a success, not a leak.

04

Delete what dies

A dead record is worse than a missing one, because it costs a founder a week of silence. When a firm’s domain goes up for sale, the record comes out of the index. 155 did on the last sweep. The number going down is sometimes the honest outcome.

Where this goes. A founder describes a round in one sentence and leaves with a shortlist they can defend to their co-founder, every entry carrying the date it was checked and the door to knock on. No account, no fee, no intermediary. The measure is not how many funds we list. It is how few wrong emails get sent.

Provenance

Where every record
comes from.

A directory is worth exactly the last time somebody checked it. Here is how this one is built, in order, and what it still cannot tell you.

  1. I

    Sourced

Records start from the fund's own public material: its site, its filings, its partners' stated mandates. Nothing is bought from a list broker, and no contact dumps are scraped.

  2. II

    Verified

Every record is re-checked against the firm’s own site: it has to resolve, name the firm, read as an investor rather than a namesake, and not be a domain parked for sale. Where the site publishes a way in, that link is captured. The date of the check stays on the record.

  3. III

    Scored

Fit is computed against your round from mandate, cheque band, geography and recency. Every input is shown on the record, so you can disagree with the number.

  4. IV

    Swept

The whole index is re-checked on a rolling weekly cycle. A record that fails is flagged where it stands rather than quietly deleted.

What ApexRound never does

  • Take a fee, a commission or carry from your round
  • Sell placement, ranking or visibility to an investor
  • Charge a founder a penny for any of it
  • Broker introductions, or sit between you and a fund
  • Sell, rent or enrich your email or your raise data
  • Claim a site was checked on a date when it was not
  • Report a reply rate for a fund we have not actually approached

What it cannot tell you

No directory sees everything. Funds raise and wind down quietly, a stated mandate and a real one drift apart, and a route that resolved on Monday can close by Friday.

So every record carries what we know about it and how we know it, and the two are never conflated. Open a record and the Checked line says whether an automated sweep confirmed the site on a given date or whether we are holding it on our own knowledge of the firm. Weigh it yourself. That is what the line is for.

Every one of the 1,943 firms here is one we stand behind, and each record says how. 1,802 carry an automated check: on 2026-09-28 the firm’s own site answered, identified itself as that firm, and was not a domain parked for sale. 155 records failed that last test on an earlier sweep and were deleted from the index entirely rather than left in it. The remaining 141 are held on our own knowledge of the firm, mostly sub-funds and programmes with no site of their own to check, and their records say exactly that. Where a site publishes a way in, the link is on the record: 205 open application pages, 501 contact pages, 158 direct emails.
